As a member of the Class of 2016 and a proud Old Xaverian, I am deeply cognisant of the transformative power of a Xavier education.
Xavier provided far more than academic opportunity. It is a place where young men are encouraged to strive for excellence, in all dimensions of life and where character is developed. There are unique co-curricular opportunities in sport, debating, music, the arts, and of course, the commitment toward Ignatian service. Indeed, a Xavier education shapes values, instilling a deep sense of responsibility to be a man for others.
Today, not every family who believes in a Xavier education is able to access it. Through the Inspiring Excellence Appeal, we can change that.
Scholarships and bursaries open doors for boys whose lives are forever transformed by the education Xavier provides. Heritage projects protect the spaces (such as The Great Hall and the Memorial Chapel) that haveshaped generations of students. Benevolent support ensures that no family faces hardship alone. The Library Fund enriches learning by providing excellent spaces and resources for Xaverians.

Inspiring Excellence
Each year, Xavier College reaches out to our community of Old Xaverians, current and past parents and staff to invite them to make a tax-deductible gift to the Xavier College Foundation.
The annual appeal provides financial support for a number of different projects each year, including Scholarships and Bursaries, Heritage Buildings and the Benevolent Fund.
Scholarships and Bursaries
- Inspiring Excellence Bursary - assists with both tuition and boarding costs
- Indigenous Bursary - assisting remote and local Indigenous students
- Class of 2016 - the Class of 2016 cohort legacy to provide a full VCE bursary
- Valete Bursary - bursary provided by Old Xaverians and the Xavier College Parents' Association
Heritage Buildings
- Supporting the upkeep of the various Heritage listed building to ensure that they are maintained and conserved for generations to come
Libraries
- Providing funding for additional resources in the libraries that will allow the College to stay up to date with ne and exciting developments in learning resources and technology
Benevolent Fund
- This fund exists to provide financial support and personal assistance for those within the Xavier Community who are experiencing great hardship. Please contact the Foundation if you or someone you know is experiencing difficulties and would like to know how the Foundation can assist confidentially
In 2025, we received $227,618 from 204 gifts and in 2026, we aim to inspire not only our current donors, but also those who not yet given, to consider supporting our Inspiring Excellence Appeal.
Every gift, no matter how small or large, makes a difference to the lives of students of Xavier. It is the collective power of gifts from our community that makes the biggest difference of all.
