Xavier College Burke Hall Junior School welcomed the Jesuit Social Services team to deliver the ‘Unpacking the Man Box’ workshop, part of The Men’s Project initiative.
Held with our Year 5 and 6 students, the workshops opened important conversations about masculinity, gender stereotypes and the pressures boys and men can feel to behave in certain ways.
Through age-appropriate discussion and activities, students explored what it means to make respectful choices, challenge harmful stereotypes, look out for others and build healthy, accountable identities.
A session for parents and caregivers was also help to provide insights and strategies to open conversations and build skills to adopt and role model healthier habits.
At Xavier, we are committed to helping our students grow into young people of character, empathy and confidence, with the skills to contribute positively to their relationships and communities.
