Sport Year 7 - Year 12

Forming Leaders Through Ignatian Tradition

At Xavier, sport is far more than a game—it is a vital expression of our Ignatian philosophy of educating the whole person: mind, body, and spirit. Through sport, our students learn resilience, teamwork, and leadership, all grounded in the Jesuit ideal of striving for excellence while serving others.

Sport is woven into the fabric of life at Xavier. Every student is encouraged to participate, discover their potential, and grow in character. Our program is designed not only to teach skills and foster fitness but to nurture values—integrity, humility, and a commitment to the greater good.

The Sports Department offers a dynamic, inclusive, and challenging program that celebrates participation and achievement at every level. Whether enjoying friendly competition or pursuing elite performance, students experience joy, camaraderie, and personal growth in an environment that respects their physical, mental, social, and emotional development.

Xavier is a founding member of the Associated Public Schools of Victoria (APS), and students in Years 7–12 compete weekly against 11 other member schools.
