St Ignatius Day 2022

On Friday 29 July, over 1000 staff and students came together as a College to celebrate St Ignatius Day in anticipation of the global commemoration on Sunday 31 July. Through prayer and liturgy, we shared our thanks for the way Saint Ignatius of Loyola’s friendship with Saint Francis Xavier brought the Good News to some of the most remote regions of the world.

As a Jesuit school, we also give thanks today for the richness of over 500 years of Ignatian spirituality and way of proceeding, which continue to shape our culture and the efforts we make to ensure that all Xaverians feel welcome, known and valued.

The clear highlight of the Mass was our community joining their voices in a moving rendition of "You Raise Me Up", led admirably by Year 7 soloist Sebastian Ancetta. Please enjoy the footage of his performance in the videos below.
